Environmental Compliance

We operate to the ISO14001 and ISO9001 standard in everything we do and foster relationships with suppliers who operate to this standard. We regularly audit all new and existing suppliers and understand waste end destinations to ensure high levels of compliance are maintained and customers waste is fully compliant.

Reporting

It’s crucial to have precise reporting on the waste journey of our clients to keep track of their environmental performance and progress in achieving Net Zero. We take an innovative approach to analysing a client’s waste management by providing monthly reports, which helps in reducing their waste and carbon impact, and it supports the mapping of their own sustainability journey.

Social Impact and Community

We’re committed to optimising the social, environmental, and economic well-being of our local areas. We believe in creating values of inclusion, openness, honesty, and social responsibility, and we understand how social value can impact our employees and local communities. To ensure that we deliver on our commitment, we have implemented a Social Value committee that focuses on developing ways to positively impact change through our core values.

As part of our commitment, every member of our team has a paid volunteer day once a year to give back to the local community and support a charity or cause of their choice. Additionally, we employ local people, thus contributing to the growth and development of the local economy.

Reducing Emissions

We aim to support our customers reduce their carbon emissions and equally we work hard to identify how we can reduce our own carbon emissions whilst maximising efficiency.

Travel
Our main carbon emissions as a business are generated from travel.  When it’s appropriate our meetings are held virtually, nothing beats a face-to-face meeting, and so we ensure that we visit our customers on a regular, and we’re always on the end of the phone should our customers need us. When it comes to customer collections, we optimise bin space, ensuring reduced collections and where possible collections are timed to coincide with other local pickups.

Electric vehicles
All of our company cars are now either electric or hybrid.

Office improvements
We’ve made improvements to our offices such as lights and an intelligent heating system. We have also reduced our paper consumption by digitising our operational systems.

Circular Economy

Our standard in every project we undertake is to look for ways to reduce waste handling time, looking for ways to reduce or reuse waste and develop closed-loop opportunities all of which remove cost and increase revenues. We operate:

  • • Wood re-use scheme
  • • Closed-loop cardboard recycling
  • • Pre and post-consumer mixed-fibre textile recycling
  • • Recycling plastic bottles back into plastic bottles
  • • Recycling plastics film and rigid into furniture
  • • Recycling of vape component parts
  • • Re-use of white goods and the recycling of non-reusable parts
  • • Reducing Emissions – Investing in more efficiency, replacing high-carbon energy sources with lower alternatives, and replacing diesel company vehicles to electric.
  • • Our supply chain is built on local suppliers who share our ESG goals, who don’t send waste to landfill and pledge to reduce their own carbon emissions and waste.
